Bilberry

ree

Bilberry is a small, dark blue fruit, very similar to blueberries. It grows on a plant called Vaccinium myrtillus, which is found in Europe, Asia, and North America. This berry is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients.

Health Benefits

Eye Health: Bilberry is famous for improving vision, especially night vision. It has substances called anthocyanins that help protect the eyes and improve their function.

Heart Health: Bilberries may be good for your heart. They may help lower blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol levels.

Antioxidant Power: Bilberries are loaded with antioxidants, which protect your body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals.

Blood Sugar Control: Bilberry may help control blood sugar levels, which is particularly

beneficial for people with diabetes.

Sources

Fresh Bilberries: These can be hard to find, but they're often available in Europe and some parts of North America during the summer.

Bilberry Supplements: Available in the form of capsules, tablets, or liquids for those who want to get the benefits of bilberry all year round.

Bilberry Extract: Used in products like jams, juices, and teas.  Recommend Amounts

For general health benefits, taking bilberry extract containing 160 to 480

milligrams of anthocyanins daily is often recommended. It’s important to follow the dosage instructions on supplement labels or the advice of a healthcare provider.
